The Pack Horse was taken over by Suzy Turner and Andy Williams in 2003, and from the start they had a strong vision of the pub they wanted to run. This wasn't merely down to their previous experience in pub management but was the result of a huge amount of in-depth research, analysis and planning.

Following a refurb jointly funded by themselves and the Unique Pub Company they have achieved their aim - they have a pub which blends historical and contemporary values and has a commitment to quality drinks, perfect serve and real ales as well as excellent food cooked by a talented team with quality local ingredients.

The Pack Horse has achieved a fine balance, becoming a recognised and respected food pub in the region and gaining a significant portion of it's revenue from food sales whilst retaining an inclusive feel and remaining a pub which is a hub for the local community.
